K.V SESHADRINATHA SASTRIGAL on the 17th and 18th of August, 2019 following Shravana Purnima.
About Brahmashri Dr. KV Seshadrinatha Sastrigal Mama : Many of us are fortunate to live during the lifetime of a scholar par excellence like KVS mama. He is well-known to many through the popular Dharma Sastram program in Shankara TV and more recently through many YouTube talks. Mama, who is known as a very down-to-earth unassuming person is the first to receive the Mahamahopadyaya title from the Govt. of India post independence. He is a multi-faceted personality. He is an erudite Vedic Scholar, Ayruvedic practitioner, a Jyothisham expert and the illustrious former Principal of the Madras Sanskrit College. He is one of the very few in India to have a commanding authority over Jyotisha, Mimasa, Tarka Sastra, Vedas, Upanishads and Ayurveda. During his tenure as a professor, he taught Sahitya, Vyakarana and Sanskrit Philology for Post graduate students and authored numerous research papers and editorials. He held several posts including the Chairmanship at the Board of Ayurveda, Presidentship, Veda Samrakshananyas, Chennai and was recipient of many prestigious awards including the Dhanvantri Award and the Dharmasreshta Award. ABOVE ALL, Mama, out of compassion for all of us, is making tireless efforts at 80+ years to educate the present generation on Hindu traditions and Dharmasastras, which can help us mould our lives free from all sorrows, pains, difficulties and give us peace of mind”.
