Curriculum
VEDA SHAKHAS
3 Veda shakhas are being taught in the Vedapatashala. These include:
- Rg Vedam (Shakala Shakha) by Shri. Udaya Ganesha Bhatt
- Krishna Yajur Vedam (Taittiriya Shakha) by Sri. Sundara Vadyar
- Shukla Yajur Vedam (Kanva shakha) by Sri. Rohit Kulkarni
SAMSKRITAM
All Veda vidyarthis receive 2.5 hrs of instruction in Samskritam everyday. This amounts to about 60 hrs a month!! Some vidyarthis are chosen for a Veda Adhyayanam+Shastram track and these vidyarthis get a strong foundation in vyakaranam,vidyarthis are mandated to take atleast 1 Samskritam paper for their NIOS 10th exams.
The main Samskritam adhyapakas are Sri Udaya Ganesha Bhatt (M.A Acharya pariksha) and Smt. Gowri Vishwanathan (B.A Samskritam).
NIOS
All Veda vidyarthis are required to take the 10th std exams under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) system. For this exam, out of the 5 subjects, all vidyarthis are mandated to take atleast 1 Samskritam paper and 1 English paper.
Some vidyarthis are also given an opportunity to prepare for Prak Shastri exams ( XII std).
ENGLISH
All Veda vidyarthis receive atleast 4 hours of English instruction every week. This includes spoken English using a multiple intelligence based online coaching session, in-person language enhancement classes and preparation for the English paper for the NIOS exam.
Sri Bharati Tirtha Vedapatashala is managed by Sengottai Religious and Charitable Trust. Sri Bharati Tirtha Samskrita Vidyalaya is managed by Sengottai Sri Sharadamba Charitable Trust. 80G tax certificates available for donations made to Sengottai Sri Sharadamba Charitable Trust account only.
